Miranda Kerr To Release Self-Help Book

If there’s one industry that preys on human inadequacy more than fashion it’s that begrudging spiritual band-aid for desperate people everywhere – the self-help book. It’s a genre marred by sweeping generalizations, sticky mantras and in one such tome I chanced upon recently, a chapter dedicated to “dream stones”, aka things that make me doubt a book can change my life through self-love, positive affirmations and sepia-hued rocks.

Typically, the genre is populated by messianic Psychology Professors and new-age quacks but the newest entrant into the self-help canon is Australia’s most celebrated clotheshorse and national productivity killer Miranda Kerr. A tireless brand unto herself who, aside from dating Legolas from Lord Of The Rings and making lots of money, found time to pen the terribly titled Treasure Yourself slated for release later this year.

In a recent interview with Elle Magazine Kerr explained: It’s about encouraging young women to embrace their individuality. You may think it’s easy for me to say, but we all have insecurities. It’s important, as women, to get past all of that and let our talents shine.

Now a Miranda Kerr book on how to make your life awesome might appear condescending and totally unrelatable but her focus on self-esteem, nutrition and peaceful spirituality actually sounds helpful. Seriously. Maybe it’s because Treasure Yourself is phonetically similar to Pleasure Yourself or maybe it’s the wholesome brand that Kerr maintains, but I think this is a best seller in the making that might actually help people with obesity, depression and other personal problems that can only be solved by reading books.
