Mary Katranzou for Topshop Goes Mental In Melbourne

Mary Katrantzou‘s insanely gorgeous capsule collection for Topshop hit Australia’s lone Topshop flagship in Melbourne this morning and, as one would predict, people went ape shit over it. A queue had formed at the store’s entrance by the time doors opened at 10am, at which point a horde of rabid shoppers pounced upon the coveted (and extremely limited) Mary K collection.

A bystander told Pedestrian, “There was a frenzy of girls fighting over dresses. There was almost tears.” Now that’s passion!

Over 50 garments went in first five minutes with the Tunic Dress and Sleeveless Blouse selling out within two. Can you really blame shoppers for their enthusiasm?

If you want to get your paws on the Mary Katranzou for Topshop range you better get yourself to Topshop, stat. Of the dresses there are just THREE remaining.

Topshop also launched the NEWGEN t-shirt collection in store today, featuring some of Britain’s finest young designers including Christopher Kane, Erdem, Peter Pilotto and Mark Katrantzou whose lovely floral print design was the first to sell out.

Busy Topshop Australia celebrated ANOTHER launch today, for a series of different temporary pop-ups in store, showcasing the work of some of Melbourne’s leading creative types from the worlds of beauty,
food, design and floristry. Pencil in a date for one of these delightful temporary treats.
