Marc Jacobs ever the iconoclast bucked all trends at his much anticipated New York Fashion Week show.
Firstly his show ran early (two minutes to be exact) and it ran quick. A rare occurence considering in years past guests have waited hours for his shows to start. Secondly Jacobs banned all celebrities from the front rows leaving the audience and photographers to focus solely on the clothes. And perhaps most importantly, with the increased use of terms like the loathsome “recessionista” Jacobs said a big fuck you to austerity by showing a neon infused collection inspired by “clubbing in the 80’s, when New Yorkers could have fun, be creative. Not like now…” How right you are Sir, how right you are.
