Every so often, a product lands that sends the internet into a proper meltdown, spawning a cult following that is more passionate and fixated than a Bachelor hopeful during cocktail hour.
Lush’s Sleepy Lotion originally hit our shelves last year as part of the brand’s much sought-after ‘Christmas‘ collection, and then returned this year for ‘Christmas in July‘ as a limited edition product. But it became a standout favourite, to the point where fans of Lush were legit petitioning for it to be brought back after selling out.
Why is it so damn popular? Basically, reviews on Reddit say that the oatmeal and lavender infused cream literally helps with proper sleep ailments like insomnia and sleeplessness side effects.
The tonka absolute rounds out the scent with a sweetness, making it a heady, malty rich lotion good to send you off to the land of nod.
“As someone with an incurable and not so common chronic illnesses which result in chronic pain and insomnia because of the pain, sleepy lotion is the one product that can actually help me through the worst of my nights,” wrote hmarie92 on the Lush subreddit.
