NOOOO: Aussie Fashion Label Lover Goes Into Voluntary Administration

Australian fashion label and purveyors of delicate lace Lover has gone into voluntary administration.

Administrators from business management firm Ferrier Hodgson were appointed last Thursday 23rd November, and have called for buyer’s expressions of interest.

Morgan Kelly, who along with Ryan Eagle has been appointed to manage the company, said via a media release that it would be “business as usual” in the meantime. PEDESTRIAN.TV is seeking clarification, but it appears that all orders and returns will continue to be processed as normal.

“Lover is an iconic and well-established fashion brand that represents a unique opportunity for interested parties,” said Kelly. “We plan to work closely with Lover’s management team to find an acquirer for this popular brand.”

Lover, which began as a Bondi Markets stall in 2001 by designers Nic Briand and Susien Chong, quickly became part of the Australian fashion scene, producing a critically acclaimed (and super romantic) shows for the then-Rosemount Australia Fashion Week. (The annual fashion shows are now sponsored by Mercedes-Benz.)

It also found its way into the covetable celebrity wardrobe, including those of Beyoncé, Jennifer LopezAlexa Chung, Miranda Kerr and Clémence Poésy.

Here’s hoping this iconic brand finds a buyer soon and lives another day to bedeck us all in white lace.
