LOVER: Dress Of The Year 2011

Earlier this year, designers Susien Chong and Nic Briand celebrated ten years of LOVER with the showing of their stellar Spring/Summer 2011-12 collection titled ‘The White Serpent‘ at Australian Fashion Week. The entire collection was an exercise in understated elegance, however one dress has emerged as a clear frontrunner for ‘Dress Of The Year’ on account of its sheer (pun intended) ubiquity and all around Loverliness (boom tish). That is, the collection’s eponymous Serpent Lace Dress, and its offshoot The Wiccan Lace Dress.

With its long sleeve, demure scoop neck, asymmetrical hem and eyelash-fringe at scalloped edges, the Serpent has garnered a whole lotta love – and deservedly so – from the genetically-blessed Miranda Kerr and blodel (that’s blogger/model – I think I’ve started something there) Hanneli Mustaparta. The Wiccan counterpart, of a similar lace fabrication, replete with raised and scalloped hemline and a more structured shoulder, has been spotted on street-style fixture, Yeezy-approved stylist and Harper’s Bazaar Australia‘s Fashion Editor, Christine Centenera, as well as on Marilyn Monroe incarnate, Michelle Williams.

The LOVER Jumble Sale is on this weekend, however, don’t hold out for one of these bad boys ladies – details as follows:
