L’Oréal Paris and Karl Lagerfeld are set to collaborate on a one-off makeup collection line of “classics with a rock-chic touch“, the legendary Parisian fashion brands revealed today.

The line, launching worldwide in September – Australia‘s part of the world, exclusive lippy for me too, please –  will “celebrate [Lagerfeld]’s vision of beauty and his creative legacy“.

Iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld passed away, aged 85, in February this year. A memorial for the Lagerfeld was held in the Grand Palais in Paris last week, with attendees including Tilda Swinton, Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne.

All we’ve really got to go off for Karl x L’Oréal Paris at this stage is this teaser video, which has us thirsting from some new bold lip colours and long-lasting liquid liner.

According to WWD, Caroline Lebar, head of image and communication at Karl Lagerfeld said this of the covetable collab:

This line of make-up truly reflects the Karl Lagerfeld brand universe and what Karl loved in make-up – he often used eyeshadows as colours in his sketches. L’Oreal Paris has an inclusive message of beauty for all. Karl liked it when a collaboration resonated with his brand and would make a real impact to many people.

Delphine Viguier, global brand president of L’Oreal Paris, concurred, expanding on what the partnership means for the beauty mainstay.

For L’Oreal Paris, all of our fashion designer collaborations are an honour, but his one is particularly meaningful. While Karl upturned the hierarchy of the landscape to democratise fashion, L’Oreal Paris is committed to making beauty according to women’s own rules and desires. We look forward to sharing with the world the makeup born from this creative connection: Karl Lagerfeld’s rock chic and L’Oreal Paris’ empowered vision of beauty.

The line will be revealed on September 20, before copping a global drop on September 27, in line with Paris Fashion Week.
