LMFF Announces Special Guest Designer Mary Katrantzou

This morning L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) organisers announced the exciting news that internationally acclaimed designer Mary Katrantzou will be attending the festival this year to take part in the L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival Business Seminar.

The Greek-born designer has been a darling of the next generation of fashion design since her rapturously received graduate collection for eminent design school Central Saint Martins. The angular structure of her dresses and separates and her signature hyper-real prints inspired by the art of trompe l’oeil are executed to stunning effect, and subsequently won the designer the coveted British Fashion Council Awards Emerging Talent in 2011, and the Young Designer category at the 2012 ELLE Style Awards.

Girl’s got mad skills, essentially.

Mary will attend LMFF’s Opening Event presented by David Jones and Supported by Vogue Australia on Tuesday 19th March, where her collection will open the show also featuring David Jones’ top Australian
lineup including Dion Lee, Lisa Ho and Ellery. Her gig at the increasingly popular Business Seminar of the Festival takes place on Thursday 21st March, with fellow speakers Marc Worth (UK), store designer Ron Pompei
(USA) fashion illustrator Bil Donovan (USA) and digital and fashion film expert Quynh Mai (USA).

Tickets are available online at lmff.com.au.
