Lana Del Rey has been championing independent Aussie fashion labels ever since her maiden visit to our shores in July, and in her epic sexually-charged video for single “Ride” she is ensconced in yet another local designer.
Melbourne boutique Lady Petrova was introduced to Del Rey by Simon Winkler, music producer for Melbourne independent radio station Triple R. According to Lady Petrova, Lana purchased six of the “flower crowns” (the veiled headpiece which she wore during every show on her Australian Tour including Splendour), as well as a customised version of the white lace “Snow Queen” dress, which – much to the designer’s surprise – she chose to wear in the “Ride” video.
