Ksubi, Sass & Bide Still Rich

Ksubi & Sass & Bide have survived the GFC. Despite rumours of million dollar debts and signs of financial distress. Australia’s two most successful fashion exports of the last 10 years have both maintained their positioning amongst the IT wizards, property magnates, sporting stars and Hugh Jackman on the BRW Young Rich List.

Ksubi’s Dan Single & George Gorrow clocked in at an estimated net worth of $21million (down from $24million in 2008) with Sass & Bide posting a recession friendly $36million (down from $40million in 2008)

BRW reports that Ksubi overhauled their business model over the last 12months ‘with divisions such as footwear, eyewear and accessories licensed out’ and a ‘$60million supply deal’ being announced in the near future. Whether this means that Ksubi could become Australia’s answer to Pierre Cardin or the possibility that we may soon see every member of Australia’s armed forces kitted head to toe in Ksubi denim is yet to be confirmed (or denied)

Sass & Bide’s Sarah Jane Clarke & Heidi Middleton celebrated their 10th anniversary this year and sold a large stake in their business to investors David Briskin & Daniel Besen as a condition for a $1.5million loan to accelerate the brand’s expansion plans. With their stellar showing at London Fashion Week the brand looks set to continue their growth.

Other notable entries on the list included Napoleon Perdis of Napoleon Cosmetics ($90million), Tim Anderson & Paul Wiegard of Madman Entertainment ($36million) and Jo Horgan of Mecca Cosmetics ($35million)
