Kim Kardashian has publicly spoken for the first time about her experience in Paris last October, when she was tied up and robbed at gunpoint of more than $14 million worth of jewellery.
In the most recent episode of ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians‘, she tells her sisters Kourtney and Khloe about the events of the night, when five men dressed as French police officers burst into her hotel apartment and robbed her.
She says the men took her phone away and started to restrain her.
“He duct taped my face and my mouth, to get me to not yell.“Then he grabs my legs and I wasn’t, you know, I had no clothes on under [my robe] so…“He pulls me towards him at like the front of the bed and I thought, ‘OK, this is the moment you’re going to rape me’. And I fully, like, mentally prepped myself… and then he didn’t.“Then they had the gun up to me, and I just knew that was the moment, they’re just totally gonna shoot me in the head.”
The episode also reveals that Kim believes her rigorous Snapchat documentation of her time in Paris is what gave her away to the robbers – thanks to her posts, they knew she was alone in the apartment. No wonder she chose to take a social media break.
Kim said in a series of Tweets before the show that she wanted to “share this story through my eyes & not in an interview where my own words could be twisted” – which is why she’s chosen to speak about it on her own reality TV show rather than anywhere else.
And after such a harrowing experience, you couldn’t blame her for wanting to take back some control of her story.
