Kelly Gale On Being A Bonds Babe, Sweden and Victoria’s Secret

If the genetic lottery were an actual thing and not just wishful thinking on both our parts, then Kelly Gale surely holds the winning ticket. Half-Indian, half-Australian and Sweden-based since the age of three, Gale has recently been appointed the latest face of BONDS in occasion of their HI BIKINI campaign, the results of which you can cast your eyes over below.

I know, right? In addition to wearing the living daylights out of those 90s hi-cut briefs, today Gale has also been appointed your unofficial Swedish tour guide – a task I imagine she relishes more so than being a Victoria’s Secret Angel. On the eve of her campaign shoot, we asked for Kelly’s guide to her hometown and – true to form – she delivered in delightful spades. Blessed:

How was your time working on the BONDS campaign with fellow face Dylan Penn?
Its been great. So much fun shooting with both Dylan and Jai [Courtney]. They’re both very friendly and fun.

Being 50% Australian, is half of your underwear wardrobe 50% BONDS?
Haha, I wish. But after these few days of living in Bonds underwear while we’ve been shooting I’m definitely gonna have to go out and get a tonnes of pairs, they’re so comfy and colourful, I don’t want to wear anything else.

How are you going to celebrate your high school graduation?
In three weeks I’m graduating in Gothenburg, Sweden. I can’t wait! It’s going to feel so damn awesome, I can’t explain in words. My friends and I are going to celebrate with a champagne breakfast, followed by a tonne of crazy traditional things we do at my school on graduation. In the evening my friends and family will come celebrate with me at my house, hopefully outside if the weather is not gonna be “Swedish weather” that day. After that my friends and I will probably finish off a crazy day by going out dancing (if we still can stand by the end of the evening haha).

Where should we hang out should we find ourselves in Gothenburg?
When I’m in Gothenburg, I hang out at school with my friends, on the balcony of my home in the sun (if the sun is out) and at local coffee shops a lot! I think it’s super relaxing to have coffee or Swedish “fika” [coffee break] with friends after a long day at school or after hitting the gym. My favourite coffee shops in Gothenburg are Mezzo and Da Matteo, I spend a lot of time there either with friends or alone studying. Mezzo my favourite coffee shop – they make the best coffee in Sweden!

What’s in your carry-on?
Dark chocolate, nuts, and fruit, plus a good book, homework and sometimes a magazine. My laptop, my phone, Beats by Dre, passport, wallet, compeed (bandaids for blisters), a hair tie, a pair of runners and a Bonds sportsbra. Lipbalm, lipstick and Dermalogica’s skin smoothing cream.

If you were showing a friend around town for a perfect weekend in Gothenburg, where would you take them?
I would first take them for a 9km run or power walk along the beach where I live, then drive ten minutes in to town for breakfast at Brogyllen then I would take them to my favourite chocolate store Flickorna Kanolds to buy some chocolate to have with our coffee later on. If it’s summer I would definitely take them to Liseberg, the biggest amusement park in Europe (it’s in Gothenburg).

If the weather is bad I’d take them go-karting or rock climbing indoors, I love rock climbing and go-kart! Otherwise I might just take them to NK which is a shopping mall that is really nice and not overcrowded – they have everything. Then fika at Mezzo and/or lunch outside at Avalon and a massage at my favourite massage place called Siam Relax

For dinner, I would either take them to 28+ or Hello Monkey. If we’re going out in the evening I’d go for drinks at LouLou

How would you describe the first time you walked the Victoria’s Secret runway?
The best experience in my life. I loved every moment of it. Everyone was so nice and everything was so fun. It felt like I was dreaming. When the show was over I just wanted to do it all over again. My friends and family were really proud of me as well, that was a really nice feeling.
