Jimmy Kimmel’s Lie Witness News Tackled New York Fashion Week

By now, you’re all probably aware of Jimmy Kimmel‘s semi-regular recurring segment Lie Witness News – wherein cameras are sent to major events where concentrations of pretentiousness peak, and people’s reluctance to not be exposed as unknowing on camera is curiously unveiled. A camera crew interviews patrons and asks them about things and people that do not exist, and watches with glee as people talk about those non-existent or non-related things with false intimate knowledge.
Previously we’ve seen the segment travel to music festivals to have people talk about made-up bands, now we’ve got this new instalment wherein the LWN cameras head out to an event where smug is at particularly high levels – New York Fashion Week.

It’s hard to tell if some people are genuinely trying to act like they know more than what they do, or if some people are merely in on the gag – that said there’s not a chance in hell that that last pairing are playing along with it.
To be fair, though, that photoshop of the headless dress isn’t exactly that far fetched. Though actually going one step further and making people wear and model it on the streets of NYC is something of a stroke of genius as far as I’m concerned.
