Jak and Jil Vs. Lane Crawford

As evidenced by Scott Schuman’s recent DKNY campaigns, fashion brands are turning to the humble street photographer as a viable means to produce and promote content. The latest to join the ranks is shoe-porn lensman and Editor-In-Chief stalker Tommy of Jak and Jil fame collaborating with high end Hong Kong retailer Lane Crawford.

The images, unsurprisingly, look amazing and channel the between show strut which Tommy captures so well. Combine that with plenty of six-inch close-ups (shoe enthusiasts have not been forgotten), and a Kate Lanphear doppelganger (a Jak and Jil favourite) and you could be forgiven for not even noticing a difference between Jak and Jil’s posts and Lane Crawford’s advertisements. All in all a smart way to marry content and advertising, I can’t wait to see more.

Tommy explains on his blog: THE SPRING/SUMMER 2009 CAMPAIGN I SHOT FOR LANE CRAWFORD IS FINALLY OUT. YOU CAN VIEW THE IMAGES ON LANECRAWFORD.COM. IN ADDITION TO SHOOTING THE CAMPAIGN, I AM EXCLUSIVELY BLOGGING FOR THEIR NEW RELAUNCHED WEBSITE DURING THE MONTH OF MARCH. YOU CAN VIEW EXCLUSIVE IMAGES THAT I’VE SHOT FROM ALL FOUR FASHION WEEKS ONLY ON THE LANE CRAWFORD WEBSITE. CHECK IT OUT!
