InStyle Nabs Miranda Kerr’s First Post-Baby Cover

By their own estimation InStyle’s latest issue features an “Australian first newsstand magazine cover shoot and interview with Miranda Kerr, post-baby.” So many qualifiers! The biggest coups involve Kerr in a leopard print onesie and Thurley dress (shot by Chris Colls and Mike Newling) and post-baby ruminations on work/life balance, bathing with her son, Flynn, and returning to Australia. Some quotable highlights below…

Kerr on work-life balance: “I was working 18-hour days. Now the pace has slowed so I can spend the majority of my time with Flynn – we have a bath together every night. [I am] first a wife and a mother, and then comes work. When I work, it needs to be the best decision for us as a family.”

Kerr on her post-baby physique: “He’s a big baby, 4.5 kilograms at birth, and I thought to myself, ‘I have so much more that I want to do aside from modeling. I can live with my body not being in shape if I have a healthy son. It’s worth it’.”

On returning to Australia: “I always have a great time when I go back. I grew up [working] with so many of the Australian designers-Lisa Ho, Alex Perry, the Ksubi boys-they were the first shows I ever did and I feel close to them.”
