Holy Shit: Derryn Hinch Vows To Name Paedos In His Maiden Speech Today

One of the core reasons Derryn Hinch wanted to get into the Senate was pretty simple: he can do his most favourite thing – naming and shaming pedophiles – under parliamentary privilege. Now, he’s said that he plans to do exactly that in his maiden speech today.

Hinch has gotten in trouble for violating court suppression orders in the past. He was put under house arrest in 2011 for five months after naming sex offenders, and spent time in jail in 2014 for posting the criminal history of Jill Meagher‘s murderer on his blog.
One of the core policies of his Justice Party is establishing an electronic database for sex offenders like the ones which operate in several states in the US.
“Names will be named. That’s all I’ll say,” Senator Hinch told Seven, in what is clearly an ominous reference to the fact that his maiden speech – normally a pretty innocent affair in which the incoming parliamentarian talks about their beliefs and their background – will likely feature Hinch yellin’ the names of pedos.
Obviously the issue here is that suppression orders exist for a bloody reason, and Derryn running around like a chook with his head cut off yelling names doesn’t actually do a whole lot to expedite justice.
One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts gives his maiden speech tomorrow, and Pauline Hanson gives hers on Wednesday. It’s gonna be a buckwild week, ladies and gentlemen.
