H&M’s 2016 Designer Collab Will Be With The Masters Of OTT, Kenzo

H&M are the obvious ‘kings and queens of thecollab’, and they’ve just announced the fashion house that they’re working with in 2016:
  KENZO!
The maximalist creative direction duo Humberto Leon and Carol Lim said that they don’t really get nervous anymore because they know their strengths and weaknesses as a team, but they’re excited for bringing a collection to H&M’s customer base.
The pair said this:
“We like to make sure each piece [in the collection] has its own value and feels special, but at the same time that the collection as a whole feels really united.

That means people should be as excited to own a t-shirt as they are to own a dress.

Each piece should feel deliberate.”
The reasoning for the partnership is pretty simple – Kenzo’s exuberance and overwhelming quirkiness fits well with a high street retailer, and H&M wanted to mix up their collab game after the rush of metallic beading that was the intense (and expenno) Balmain x H&M collab last year.

H&M creative advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson said this about Leon & Lim:
“We can’t wait to share with everyone the world of Kenzo x H&M with all of its creativity, fun and love of fashion.”
The collection will be available in store and online worldwide, and will be a mix of mens and women’s clothing, plus accessories.
Kenzo x H&M will be hitting stores on November 3 this year.
