H&M Confirms Australian Store Opening In 2014

ICYMI: The European behemoths of high street fashion continue their expansion into the Australian market with Swedish giant H&M confirming its imminent arrival Down Under via social media on Friday afternoon, announcing: “We are happy to announce that we will open our first H&M store in Australia, in 2014! Stay tuned for more details.”

H&M, the world’s second largest clothing retail group, is represented by David Beckham and his booty double, Lana Del Rey and, most recently, the woman to whom you bitches should bow down, Beyonce, as ambassadors for its affordable ‘fast’ fashion. The collaboration-prone mega brand has also commissioned some of the most impressive designer capsule collections of any other high street brand, including partnerships with Versace, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Commes Des Garçons, Matthew Williamson, Sonia Rykiel, Jimmy Choo and Lanvin.

There has been no confirmation about where the first flagship will (literally) set up shop, but 2012 rumours pegged Melbourne for the first Australian site. Watch this space…
