Hillary Clinton Responds To Meme Of Her Reppin’ Death Row At All 3 Debates

There are probably thousands of reasons the 2016 Presidential Election will go down in history, not least because it’ll always be the time an egomaniacal kumquat was *almost* elected leader of the free world.

But for better or worse, it will also go down in history as the first US election to get this living shit memed out of it.

Like, in the year of our lord 2016, everyone and their mum knows what a meme is and boy, do they (we) just bloody love to share ’em.

Here’s a particularly good one from the presidential debates:

I don’t care if we’ve reached peak meme, that is fucking great.

Let’s break it down:

Hillary Clinton has now taken this day, her birthday, to respond to the meme. (She turns 69 today, which some people tell me is ‘the sex number’. Nice.)

Her response was cleverly sandwiched in a 30-minute interview on The Breakfast Club radio programme, where Hillary shot the breeze with Charlamagne Tha God and co. about everything from Barack Obama‘s presidency, to gun control, to Jay Z‘s support of her campaign. Obviously, though, it was all a clever ruse to get her to talk memes.

“Do you look at the memes?” Charlamagne asks her around the 18 minutes mark, whipping out his phone. “This is a good hip-hop meme. Was that on purpose? Are you a fan of Death Row Records?

“Well I think Death Row and a lot of other fashion sources have influenced my look, don’t you?” she said.

This segued into a conversation about what “deadass” means, thanks to Charlamagne’s rather spiffy meme shirt of Hillary in with a Yankees hat with the caption, “I need your votes deadass”. ‘Cause Hillary’s a Cubs fan, and “deadass” is New York slang, and something something pandering for votes.

The great meme convo happens at around the 18:15 minute mark if you want:
