Wave your pitchforks in my face all you want, but ‘A Walk To Remember’ is the best adaptation of all Nicholas Sparks’ novels. Yes, even ‘The Notebook’.
Allie and Noah get their happily ever after, but Jamie and Landon? Their love is cut short by that motherfucker known as cancer, and – SPOILERS AHEAD – watching her die after their butterfly-tattoo, two-places-at-once, custom-built-telescope romance is truly a right hook to the heart.
The movie recently celebrated 15 years since it made you ugly cry and former co-stars Mandy Moore and Shane West just gave us the next best thing to ‘A Walk To Remember 2′, which Sparks made impossible (thnx for that, Nick): a reunion IRL.
The duo met up with director Adam Shankman for a dinner date after the Super Bowl, gasbagging for three hours.
“These two gentlemen are still some of the best around,” Mandy captioned selfie of them together which was shared to all three of their IGs. “My heart is full.”
If you weren’t already crying, how’s this: Adam captioned his photo with a ref to the movie’s unforgettable final line.
“After 15 years their love is still like the wind: I can’t see it but I will always feel it,” he wrote.
It was only a couple of weeks ago that Mandy admitted what we’d suspected all along: she fell hard for Shane during filming.
“He was the character to me and there was definitely a part of me that absolutely fell in love with him,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t know if I could discern the difference between him and the character at that point in time because, again, it was my first experience doing anything like this and I was a 16-year-old, impressionable girl. I was just so caught up in the moment and the experience.”
She’s only human, after all.
