Here’s A Lil’ Sticky Beak Inside The NGV’s Lush ‘House Of Dior’ Exhibition

Everyone, book your flights to Melbourne. Melbournites – always bloody one step ahead of us – just start planning your grown-up trip to the NGV this Sunday, cos hot damn – the House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture exhibition is looking FIRE.

We’ve got some spicy bts pics (yep, before the exhibition is even open, we’re popular like that) to get you excited. But here’s what you need to know from the outset.

This isn’t just any old fashion exhibition. It’s one of only two happening in the world to acknowledge the 70th anniversary of the Parisian fashion house, and features over 140 garments from Christian Dior Couture, some a full 70 years old. Oh, and Miranda Kerr‘s wedding dress will be there. Casual.

Here’s a sneaky look inside the exhibition for ya.

‘The exhibition will invite Australian and international audiences to discover some of the most significant couture designs of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries,” says NGV director Tony Ellwood. “The exhibition will be a celebration of Dior’s most landmark moments and designs, including their iconic ‘New Look’ silhouette, which revolutionised women’s fashion in the 1950s, through to the present-day contemporary aesthetic.

See this chic ensemble, on show at the exhibition?

Here it is back in the 40’s. Madness.

There’s also this couture piece, worn by Jennifer Lawrence at the Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere.

The exhibition is running until the 7th November. What are you waiting for? Hit up the NGV site now and buy your tickets, you adorable fool.
