Hedi Slimane Shoots Lady Gaga

Ms. Gaga, she of no pants, the femme-bot enigma, rumored hermaphrodite and most polarizing woman in modern music continues to up her fashion credentials by enlisting ex-Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane to shoot new single covers for “Dance In The Dark” and “Alejandro”.

It makes sense. Nicola Formichetti, Lady Gaga’s personal stylist and Creative director for Dazed & Confused has worked extensively with Slimane since his departure from Dior and as image makers the duo make a great team. The pair unveiled single covers for “Fame Monster” last month and managed to restrain Gaga’s penchant for sweeping sartorial flourishes with a series of nude black and white images. The new covers follow suit with one cover in a similar vein and one Alexander McQueen featuring cover in colour. It’s classy, chic and evokes just the right amount of fantasy we want in our pop stars. We’re yet to confirm whether Lady Gaga was wearing pants during the shoot but considering they’re taken from the chest up that outcome seems unlikely.
