Despite today being Sunday, the fine day – no post on Sundays, it’s hard to suppress our feelings over the significantly squee-worthy news that the Harry Potter franchise will be forever more immortalised upon the humble, picturesque art medium of the postage stamp in the United States.
Does it matter that approximately nobody has sent a letter requiring a stamp since 2002, or that these alluring morsels are only available in the US, not Australia, and thus we will perhaps truly never receive a letter from Hogwarts—appropriately stamped—requesting our presence in its heavenly grounds? Nope, not at all.
Because seven novels, two accompanying text books, eight movies, a spinoff in the works, a theme park and the exceptional presence of Rupert Grint don’t t spell success for JK Rowling, one of the most successful authors of all time, until the figments of her spectacular imagination adorn postage stamps. J.K – you’ve truly made it.
