Harper’s Bazaar Enlists Blogger Posse For Online Style Network

The influence of the fashion community’s blogging sector is about to be cemented further with the launch of Style Network – a new online style space created by Harper’s BAZAAR Australia in conjunction with some of the country’s most high-profile fashion bloggers.

Harpersbazaar.com.au has recruited an army of laptop-carrying style lackeys to contribute exclusive content every day. The lineup includes:
4th and bleeker
Gary Pepper Vintage
Zanita Zanita
Oracle Fox (winner in the Fashion category of the 2011 Blogster Awards)
Harper and Harley
A Pair & A Spare

BAZAAR’s online editor Anna McLeod addressed the historically uncomfortable divide, between bloggers and commercial fashion media in a statement about the blogger-run web space.

She said, “These bloggers have such a huge passion and dedication to the cause that we couldn’t think of a better way to have the publishing and blogging worlds collide. For so long there has been this invisible stand-off between traditional media outlets and bloggers, but that line is becoming increasingly blurred and at BAZAAR we really wanted to turn the focus onto these girls who are out there living, breathing and loving fashion so much that they spend every waking moment of their spare time blogging about it.”

What better way for a major brand to gain some youth-appeal and ‘street cred’ than with the fresh perspectives of passionate fashion fans who operate outside of the often-jaded media sphere.
