Get Yer Gummies Out, ‘Cos Australia Might Be In For A Hot Wet Summer

We just came out of our second wettest winter on record, and it’s very possible that trend is going to continue. Treasure the warm, drier spring months – except this morning in Sydney, which is wet as hell – because a La Nina weather pattern could very well form over summer.

Senior climatologist Agata Imielska told news.com.au that there’s about a 50 percent chance of La Nina forming over summer, which would lead to the same grotty wet conditions that have exemplified Australia’s recent winter. Bureau of Meteorology climatologist David John Martin said that there were record rainfulls  central NSW, central Queensland and northern Tasmania over the winter.
Yum. Hot wet Australian summer potentially incoming. Slurp.
We had a warm winter too – cheers climate change – with unseasonably muggy evenings. So picture this: you, hella sweaty and hot, during summer, trying to sleep. It’s half-and-half at this point. Make the most of spring.
