Foxtel Commissions Hancock-Rinehart Miniseries ‘House Of Hancock’

Screentime, the production company behind all thirty-seven series of Underbelly, has been commissioned by Foxtel to produce a six-part miniseries based on the Hancock family mining dynasty.

Titled The House Of Hancock, the series will chronicle the rise of mining magnate Lang Hancock, the death of his wife, his controversial remarriage to former housekeeper Rose Porteous and the emergence of his daughter Gina Rinehart as the richest businesswoman in the world and Tatooine-based intergalactic crime lord.

Screentime acquired the rights to Adele Ferguson‘s Gina Rinehart biography in February, but has only recently inked the deal with Foxtel to create the series. Foxtel Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh said “Foxtel is
committed to building and expanding our commitment to Australian drama
and to bringing remarkable Australian stories to life.
The House of Hancock is an enticing idea for the screen and captures the life of a truly extraordinary Australian. Foxtel and Screentime’s drama creative teams will work closely
together over the next few months to explore the full potential of the
miniseries.”

No casting decisions have been made yet, but could we please put forward Ken Jeong for the role of Rose Porteous?
