Yesterday Pedestrian attended the 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty press call where the ever-beguiling Alexa Chung and Aussie models Alyssa Sutherland, Heidi Harrington-Johnson and Sarah Stephens talked style and beauty tips, what they’ve been up to recently and their involvement with ACP’s month-long event.
Here are five things we learnt about Alexa Chung…
1) Alexa listens to triple j and loves shoe-adverse Perth dudes Tame Impala.
“Love listening to triple j. They were talking about how in primary school you had to go ‘Good Morning Mrs Martin’ and I was like, these guys are funny. That’s the kind of radio I’ve been listening to in the car.”
“I love Tame Impala, they’re friends of mine, I think they’re brilliant. I saw them at Rough Trade East in London like a proper groupie…and they were like ‘I didn’t realize you were famous, it’s really weird.’”
2) Alexa loves Aussie brands Lover, Dion Lee, Antipodium and Zimmerman.
“Lover’s one of my favorite brands, also Antipodium. I think Geoffrey (Finch, Antipodium designer) was one of the first designers to lend me clothes cause everyone was a bit sniffy at the beginning…but he was like yeah, you can borrow that if you want and I was like thanks Geoffrey. Yesterday I discovered a new one called Dion Lee…Beautiful designs, really, really nice.”
3) Alexa’s top 5 favorite fashion staples:
Chanel Bag
Vintage jean shorts – “I think I’ve got a hole in the arse cause I’ve worn them so much. Often I have to wear something that I don’t really like so I put it with my favorite jean shorts so I feel like me.”
School boy loafer/penny loafer
Silver mini dress – “I’ve got an imaginary favorite which is a silver dress that I want but I can’t find it. If there was a silver mini dress that would be my favorite thing.”

4) Alexa’s top 5 beauty products:
Paw paw cream
Weleda moisturizing cream
Chanel black liquid eyeliner
MAC lipstick ‘Vegas Volt’ – “I mix it with some pale concealer to make a salmon colour.”
SC or OPI nail polish – “I’m kind of addicted to that salmon/coral sea colour.”
5) Alexa wishes her hair was thicker and lighter.
“Basically I’ve got massive ears and thin hair, so the only thing to cover those two things up is to have a shaggy bob… if I had thick, luscious hair I’d have it long and nice. Mick Jagger, Brian Jones – all my heroes are men – they’re my hair heroes. If you ask for a Mick Jagger circa 76, maybe it will turn out like this.”
