FB Live Video Of Man Killing Daughter Taken Down After Almost 24 Hours

A Thai man murdered his 11-month-old daughter while broadcasting to Facebook Live on Monday, with the horrific videos remaining on the social media platform for nearly 24 hours.

21-year-old Wuttisan Wongtalay killed the child before taking his own life at a vacant hotel in Phuket, Thai police say. His family notified police when they saw the stream, but both individuals were dead when authorities arrived.
Reportedly, the footage garnered hundreds of thousands of views before it was stripped from the site. The BBC reports commenters left their condolences to the child’s family.
Jullaus Suvannin, the officer overseeing the case, said Wongtalay was suffering from paranoia regarding his relationship with his wife.
Regarding the tragic event, a Facebook spokesperson said “this is an appalling incident and our hearts go out to the family of the victim.

“There is absolutely no place for content of this kind on Facebook and it has now been removed.”
This horrific incident comes weeks after Cleveland man Steve W. Stephens used Facebook Live to stream the murder of a stranger. After that incident, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg pledged the company would do more to stop similar incidents from happening again.
