ELLERY and Christopher Esber Do New York Fashion Week

Kym Ellery and Christopher Esber have just finished showing their namesake labels in an in-the-round style joint presentation of their Spring 2012-2013 collections at New York Fashion Week’s monolithic Lincoln Center.

Each designer made their New York debut with complimentary collections consisting of ten looks that capitalised on both their recognisable strengths and the momentum gained from their extremely well-received offerings earlier this year at Australian Fashion Week.

Ellery’s Swish #105 collection honed in her signature cross-polination of textiles, including leather, metallics and mesh in an earthy palette of burgundy, orange and gold offset with whites and silver. Check out the incredible exoskeletal coat, the mesh trousers and the incredibly luxe bomber jacket.

Esber continued to build on the kind of precise, clinical minimalism we saw in May with a sharp collection consisting of a predominantly black, white and blue palette with strong emphasis placed on a high-neckline, sharp often asymmetrical tailoring and some pretty exquisite high-sheen techno-fabrics, and what looks like barnacle-intricate beading.
