Quintessential Hollywood/Pop artist, Ed Ruscha, is the latest LA face to front one of Scott Sternberg’s dreamy lo-fi polaroid lookbooks for quintessential Hollywood/Prep label, Band Of Outsiders.
Joining a coterie of lookbook stars that in the past have included Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy, KiKi Dunst and James Marsden, Andrew Garfield, Dave Franco, Max Minghella and label mainstay, Jason Schwartzmann, Ruscha is a pretty perfect fit for the perfectly fitted oxford cloth shirts, pyjama tops and Jonathan Ames-worthy Macintoshes and gingham anoraks that comprise the Spring 2012 offering.
Beloved of the ‘fashionhipsta’ set (pronounced fashion-heep-sta – I just coined that! Trademarked!), BoO’s typically hilarious cookbook lookbook (how do you turn off autocorrect?) was shot outside his studio in Culver City, California (here we come!) and features Ruscha in a variety of #ironic pastimes, including sudoku, Rubik’s cubing, reading acrylic painting for dummies (so ironic), playing paddle ball and eating/holding a gun. All that’s missing is some prescient block text, a snow-capped peak and Dunst.
