Dreamworld has postponed a memorial service for family and friends of Kate Goodchild, Luke Dorsett, Roozbeh Araghi and Cindy Low, who were tragically killed in Tuesday’s Thunder River Rapids ride malfunction.
Dreamworld states the service, which was to go ahead tomorrow morning, was pushed back at the request of Queensland Police Service (QPS) and “are unable to proceed with tomorrow’s memorial service as planned.”
“Obviously the integrity of the Coronial Investigation is of paramount importance and postponing the service will give QPS the time it needs to conduct this investigation.”
Earlier, QPS indicated the investigative process will “take some time.”
The park was scheduled to reopen after the service on Friday with proceeds going to charity, but Dreamworld now says it will offer more information on Monday regarding its reopening.
Meanwhile, mourners have continued to gather outside the park. Video captured at the scene shows adherents of several faiths paying their respects to the dead.
