Today’s news of Inexplicable Pairings But Sure I Guess, Why Not comes directly from the news that immensely successful and talented screenwriting legend Diablo Cody will be teaming up with Oprah to develop a HBO series adapted from Dr Julie Holland’s book, Moody Bitches. You get a promising TV Show, You Get A Promising TV Show, You All Get A Promising TV Show.
The full title of Holland’s book actually reads, Moody Bitches: The Truth About the Drugs You’re Taking, the Sex You’re Not Having, The Sleep You’re Missing and What’s Really Making You Crazy and quite frankly we are unequivocally in after that all-encompassing, verbose title. In fact, like most upcoming series from the network, you had us at ‘HBO’. <3
Juno, Young Adult and United States of Tara creator Diablo Cody will be, according to The Hollywood Reporter, credited as ‘creator’ of the yet-to-be titled series as well as executive producing alongside Oprah Winfrey. THR reveals that the series will generally explore the themes embedded in Holland’s book’s title to “expose the truth about the drugs you’re taking, the sex you’re not having, the sleep you’re missing and what’s really making you crazy.”
For an ambitious series such as that, I truly trust no other than Cody, responsible for the perfect line below, to write its inevitably fantastic script.
