Derek Zoolander Lands His First Ridiculously Good-Looking Vogue Cover

It’s been years – and a lot of poses – in the making, but it’s finally happened: really, really, ridiculously good-looking male model Derek Zoolander has landed his first Vogue cover.

When the below image began circulating this morning, we assumed it was some kind of dummy cover made up for the movie, but nope: a quick glance at Vogue’s website reveals that this is very much the real deal, and will grace their February issue.
The cover features Ben Stiller in skin-tight Dolce & Gabbana, alongside his co-star Penélope Cruz. The feature is accompanied by an Annie Liebowitz photo shoot that sees him clowning around in character with the likes of Gigi Hadid and Jourdan Dunn.

Per the accompanying feature, ‘Derek’ smells like orange mocha frappuccino, and has lost none of his modelling skills in the 15 years since we saw him last:

“It’s amazing to witness. Seeing Zoolander do Blue Steel is like watching a prima ballerina turning 32 perfect fouettés. Like watching Roger Federer hit his one-handed backhand. Like seeing Neil Armstrong step onto the moon in a Dior leather stocking boot.”

The film features the likes of Kristen Wiig, Justin Bieber, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kim Kardashian, Kanye WestAriana Grande and Demi Lovato, but Stiller revealed one key cameo they couldn’t lock down:

“We didn’t get Karl Lagerfeld. I would have liked to get Karl. I came close.”

Zoolander 2 is out February 11 in Australia.
