Given his cigarette-thin stature and his penchant for sharp sartorial decisions, it’s kind of a surprise that it took Daniel Johns this look to hook up with the world of fashion (relationship with Estelita Huijer notwithstanding, obviously).
This very week, however, retailer David Jones launched their Spring/Summer 2015 collection in collaboration with Johns, in a campaign called #ShotBySound.
The gimmick? All of the campaign photos were shot by musical instruments.
Model-slash-dreamboats Jessica Gomes and Montana Cox walked to Johns’ music, as the sound of the band’s instruments and voices triggered 42 cameras via telemetric cabling, which in our humble opinion sounds like some fancy-arse cabling.
The video for Johns’ ‘We Are Golden’, the latest single to be taken from his album TALK, was also shot on set in collaboration with DJs, because a musician’s got to eat, after all:

Johns, who wore a gold, sequinned Jack London jacket, says he relishes the creative freedom to try new things, after spending years in a band.
