Covers For A Cause

Virgin Mobile has launched a limited edition range of four designer iPhone covers (3G, 3GS and 4G), in collaboration with clothing boutique Incu and leading Australian designers. Covers for a Cause will raise money for ReachOut.com, Australia’s most popular online mental health service for young people.

The collection consists of four unique cover designs made from original artwork submitted by Susien Chong and Nic Briand of Lover, Joshua Petherick, Misha Hollenbach and Shauna Toohey for PAM, and Natalie Wood for Something Else.

Natalie Wood told us a little about her Covers for a Cause design: “For the cat obsessed, I present Miyoko the crazy half cat, half alpaca with a fetish for eating gold string! Fusing my love for her with my obsession for 70s interiors, you’ll find a room adorned with cane chairs, crystals and rugs. The result? A collision of my two favourite worlds! I guess I am one of those cat obsessed people. I take lots of photos of my two furry friends and they come up constantly in my conversations, and I love nothing more than a bit of ‘cat chat’ with other loving owners. So it seemed more than fitting to incorporate my newest family member Miyoko and share her around on the back of a phone.

“We kind of started off with different ideas and then we ended up fusing two things I really loved together. George Barnes who works on art and design with me at Something Else is amazing with images and colors, and he was responsible for trying out loads of options for me until we got to what became the final design. I love this process…it’s so lovely to see an idea develop and eventually find that place where you say “oh yes, that’s it, I really like that”.

Each designer iPhone cover from the limited edition Virgin Mobile Covers for a Cause collection will retail for $39 and be available to purchase from November 8 in Virgin Mobile stores throughout Australia, Incu stores, and Incu’s new online store incuclothing.com/shop.
