Cheap Monday Does Skinny Jeans With Rock Opera

Stockholm Fashion Week might not be the most eminent event on the fashion calendar, but there’s no shortage of original ideas, trendsetting and clothes as cool as the sub zero climate. After all, Sweden is the home of Philipa K, Acne Jeans, the good male haircut, and IKEA (don’t hate. IKEA has well designed products at affordable prices. If you’ve got a problem with that you can go sit in your Eames chair and fondle your Alessi kettle).

Cheap Monday, Sweden’s most influential and exported denim brand, closed yesterday’s program with their A/W 2010 collection, and the first with Ann-Sofie Back (genius designer of to-die-for structured womenswear) at the helm as creative director. Meatloaf’s “I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)” kicked off the show because rock-opera is where it’s at – providing the perfect soundtrack for pale stoic models in jeans that were tight tight tight and tapered, trousers in leather and suede, horizontal stripes, and crew neck sweaters.

Perfect for a spot of tight-pants yachting on a cold Scandinavian morning.
