Locals reported hearing a “very loud rumble” and experiencing some shaking, much as you would expect from an earthquake, with Forster resident Annette Fazio saying on FacebookMy lounge moved a little while sitting on it. Felt strange.“. I can imagine.
The earthquake could reportedly be felt as far as 33 kilometres away, including in Old Bar, Upper Lansdowne and Harrington.
The Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre has issued a statement confirming that mainland Australia is not at risk from a tsunami as a result of the earthquake, so stop running towards the hills if you had already started to while reading this article.
