Bow Down Before This Forbes List Of The World’s Highest-Paid Models

Forbes derive some sort of sadistic glee from their semi-regular reminders of how well-paid famous people are compared with the likes of poor old you. You may recall that they recently tallied the combined earning power of Tay-Sway‘s squad; they’ve now gone ahead and released their yearly list of the worlds highest-paid models, so you can question your life-choices yet again.
Frankly no, m8.
Perhaps the most surprising thing about the list is the gap between the number one and two spots. Gisele Bündchen earned more than four times her nearest rival, pulling in $US 44 million this past year, thanks to beauty and fragrance contracts with Chanel and Carolina Herrera, campaigns for Emilio Pucci and Balenciaga, and her deal with Under Armor.
Last year, ICMYI, Gisele’s Under Armor commercial, which showed social media commentary about her in the background as she worked it out on a punching bag, gave both her and the brand a huge amount of exposure.
Rising star and all-round pretty excellent person Cara Delevingne tied for second place with Adriana Lima, both pulling in $US 9 million – this one’s all the more interesting, since Delevingne declared earlier this year that she’s “not doing fashion work any more” thanks to the toll the industry takes.
Kendall Jenner, who has had a very big year, is a first-time entry on the list, while familiar names like Doutzen KroesMiranda Kerr, Candice Swanepoel and Karlie Kloss also appear.
All amounts are in US dollars:
