Bloke Who Let In Kim K’s Attackers Details What Went Down In $11M Heist

The hotel security guard who was caught up in the Kim Kardashian jewellery heist in Paris has spoken exclusively to the Daily Mail, discussing how he comforted Kim during the ordeal, but admits he let them in to her apartment and acted as an interpreter.

Abdulrahman, who only divulges his first name out of fear of retribution, says he is a PhD student who works part-time as a security guard. He claims that he tried to claim he didn’t know who Kim was when the robbers initially confronted him, but he was marched up to her room and forced to unlock it with the hotel’s spare key.
I went up to the apartment with the robbers. I was tied up in the first minutes, with handcuffs. I was in the room of Kim Kardashian. One was attacking her, the second one was with me. I saw Kim being pulled out of bed […] ‘I told him, I ask you, don’t hurt her. I repeated it. He told me, don’t worry, we are here for money. I repeated another time, please don’t hurt her. He told me: Keep calm and all will be OK. Don’t move or make a sound.

Adulrahman describes the moment he entered the room with the robbers, when Kim clearly believed it was her sister who was intruding:

We got to her bedroom and slid open the door. She was in her bed. Before we opened the door, she heard a noise and began to say, hello? hello? I assume she thought it was her sister. The intonation of her voice changed when there was no answer, I felt she was worried. After that, one of them opened the door. The other one was fastened to me […] He attacked her, holding his gun in her face. She was crying, she was screaming, saying, don’t kill me, I have babies, don’t kill me, please, I have babies! I’m a mom! Take whatever you want! She seemed terrified.

According to Abdulrahman, the security at Hotel de Pourtales was not particularly good – and he had been warning them about gaps in setup for six years. “I told them years ago that we needed better security. And they didn’t care. The code of the door was never changed and everybody knew what it was,” he said.
According to the Mail, they tried that same code on the door while factchecking the story and found that it still hasn’t been changed, which seems like something of a glaring oversight. A spokesperson for the hotel declined to comment.
Apparently, the intruders were quite unprepared – they weren’t aware that Kim didn’t speak French, for example – but made clear to Abdulrahman that they only wanted the goods and had no intention of injuring anybody. “He told me, no, we are just here for money. This made me confident they were not killers.”
They didn’t seem to be aware of the $11 million value of the jewellery they stole. In fact, they were initially looking for cash and only demanded the jewellery once they realised that Kim didn’t have much cash in the apartment.
