At PEDESTRIAN.TV, we independently choose and write about stuff we love and think you’ll froth too. We have affiliate partnerships so we might get a bit of money from any purchase you make based on our recs, cool? Cool. FYI – prices are accurate and items in stock at the time of posting.

Our biggest gripe with winter is that we’re the type of person that needs their jacket or coat to feel as much a part of their outfit as their jeans do. We want it to complement our outfits, and not just look like we plonked it over the top as we were rushing out the door. Is that too much to ask?!

Our other gripe with winter (the audacity), is that usually, every coat you find is either black or some shade of grey. And we get it, every time we try to buy a coat, we find ourselves negotiating which one we will get more wear out of, which always leads to a boring decision – a black coat. But where’s the fun in that?

Especially given that this season, most brands are bringing out a range of brightly coloured coats, jackets and shackets that are both swoon-worthy and affordable, meaning we can have our cake and eat it too.

Ahead, we’ve rounded up a range of cheap and cheerful jacket options, so you can join us in brightening up this winter.
