1979’s “Lost In The Supermarket”, a cut from The Clash’s landmark LP London Calling managed to completely obliterate consumerism and corporate greed in just under four minutes. Fast forward thirty years, and Sydney artist Ben Frost has launched an exhibition under the same name, exploring the same subject matter albeit in a completely different medium.
As always Frost blends comic book characters, childlike innocence, pop culture references and corporate logos with a healthy does of subversiveness, just the way we like it.
