With less than a month until the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, models and Angels alike are knuckling down with their strict health and fitness routines to get runway ready.
Excited to walk in her third VS show, Bella Hadid took to Instagram to share some sexy behind-the-scene pics from her fitting:
“@victoriassecret fittings today????i can’t wait for you to see all of the beautiful outfits …i’m so grateful to be a part of the show again, feeling happier and healthier than ever????” Bella wrote.
Unfortunately, as is often the case with female celebrities, internet trolls were quick to body-shame Bella, with comments like:
“Bella’s no disrespect but u should start eating again”
“Omg you need to gain a few. You look as unhealthy as Kendall Jenner. You models are scary looking and bad influences on the health of young girls.”
“Victoria’s secret? Starving! Apparently.”
Never one to let haters go unchecked, Bella then clapped back at accusations that she’s a “bad influence”, by adding a line to the end of her caption explaining how no two bodies are the same, and this is just how hers reacts to a “healthy” diet and fitness routine:
“(all body types are different and react differently to a great workout routine and a healthy diet❤️????????????)” the supermodel wrote.
Bella isn’t the first in her family to come under fire from body-shamers, with sister Gigi Hadid experiencing similar backlash throughout her career.
Earlier in the year Gi had enough of trolls slamming her figure and revealed in a series of Tweets that her body changed as a result of Hashimoto’s disease.
“For those of you so determined to come up w why my body has changed over the years, you may not know that when I started @ 17 I was not yet diagnosed w/Hashimoto’s disease; those of u who called me “too big for the industry” were seeing inflammation & water retention due to that.”
“I will not further explain the way my body looks, just as anyone, with a body type that doesnt suit ur “beauty” expectation, shouldnt have to. Not to judge others, but drugs are not my thing, stop putting me in that box just because u dont understand the way my body has matured.”
Gigi also encouraged her fans to stop spreading hate across social media platforms:
“Please, as social media users & human beings in general, learn to have more empathy for others and know that you never really know the whole story. Use your energy to lift those that you admire rather than be cruel to those u don’t.”
Both sisters are confirmed to walk in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show alongside model bestie, Kendall Jenner.
