Behold, Justin Bieber and Joan Didion’s Campaigns For Calvin Klein and Céline

Thank fucking Christ that Fashion, for once, is #trendaaang today with the unveiling of two ~major~ new campaigns released by the storied houses of Céline and Calvin Klein: one starring the perennially chic literary icon Joan Didion; the other, a butt.
The latter hardly warrants dissection, so textbook is it in its execution that it we should all by now be wholly impervious to images of Justin Bieber’s sleeve, his package, highly-punchable face, and Lara Stone’s gap tooth.

The former, however, has been responsible for some of the hardest and thirstiest fangirling we’ve seen in a while from almost every post-graduate literature student and Tumblr-possessing twenty-something who has ever read Slouching Toward Bethlehem and The White Album, or anything penned by the recalcitrant 80-year-old novelist and essayist.

Though as far as something as typically staid as a fashion campaign goes, the Didion situation really does work. It’s quite literally all anyone can talk about [both have been consistently trending on Twitter all morning]; that, and I’ve never wanted to be an octogenarian in $500 sunglasses more than I do right now.
