Bad-Ass Skier Dodges Avalanche with a Backflip

There must be a point that a professional skier reaches where tricks that exceed the average person’s ability, e.g. a backflip, become so rudimentary that the skier looks at new and challenging ways to spice up the maneuver. That’s all we can conclude after watching Swedish ski legend Sverre Liliequist barely escape the jaws of an avalanche with a perfectly executed back-flip at the Swatch Skiers Cup in the Swiss Alps.

“I haven’t done a backflip since the first SKIERS CUP in Chile in 2011,” laughed Liliequist, “that felt so good!”  Good for you Sverre. I’ll just file “that backflip felt so good” away with all the other things I will never be able to say.
