Antipodium SS/11 “Hothouse”

Inspired in part by the “brutalist beauty of the Barbican hothouse” (according to Creative Director Geoffrey J. Finch), Antipodium celebrates Springtime frivolity with their new SS/11 collection Hothouse, a stunning range of flora inspired wares which first showed at LFW a few days ago. Alexa Chung was there to see the range and now you can too.

Where to start? Well there’s a the newly launched menswear arms, a smart collection of pastel trousers, short shorts, trench coats and sweaters. All of which recall the grown up restraint of Belgian maestro Raf Simons. There’s that. There’s also four nature-inspired prints – an oversized graphic of entwined limbs, a dense foliage scene and repeat graphics of moths and caterpillars and bespectacled butterflies and delicate blooms – meticulously crafted by Antipodium’s artist in residence, New York based artist Craig Redman.

Then there’s the dresses. Deconstructed and cerebral or flowy, sheer and ankle length. Truth be told there’s a little something here for everyone. Every human likes Spring after all.
