When actors attend their red carpet movie premieres, it’s commonplace for their outfits to give a subtle nod to the film itself.
From the Crazy Rich Asians premiere, which was awash with a litany of emerging and established Asian designers, to the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald screening, where Ezra Miller channelled the iconic wing’d companion, Hedwig, there’s clearly a range of ways celebrities can pay tribute to their on-screen franchise.
So it doesn’t take a genius to think that Amber Heard might don an oceanic-inspired get-up for the premiere of Aquaman.
What she wore, however, still has us kind of shook.
Heard, who plays the role of sea queen, Mera, arrived at the event wearing a floor-length, emerald/seaweed green Valentino couture ballgown.
The iridescent look was complete with a plunging neckline and cut out detailing around the waist and back.

Naturally, Heard looks heckin’ stunning, but it’s her choice of headwear that is kind of… well… unexpected.
The actress walked the red carpet sportin’ a heavily embellished, matching haute couture swimming cap.
Behold, my friends, the very definition of EXTRA:

If you’ve ever played water polo, this hat will look all too familiar….

Still, I have no idea how she manages to make a swimming cap look stylish af. When I wore the swimming cap I looked like a bald, drowned rat. Heard, however, looks as classy as ever:

I mean, aside from making a bold statement on the red carpet, there are some other benefits to wearing the cap.
For starters, you don’t have to go through the whole hassle of getting your hair styled – a process which can take HOURS of prep for red carpet events.
Plus, if it rains, Amber’s like ‘HA! Who’s laughing now?!’
Maybe she’s onto something, fam.
