Agent Provocateur Seems To Have Ripped Off Australian Lingerie Label Elegantly Scant

Look familiar?

In 2011, Perth born model, lingerie blogger and former Pedestrian.TV presenter Tiah Eckhardt Delaney fronted a domestic-themed 1950’s housewife campaign for Sydney-based lingerie label, Elegantly Scant

Fast forward to right now and UK lingerie giant Agent Provocateur has today unveiled an eerily similar concept for their spring/summer 2014 campaign shoot, “Behind Closed Doors”, shot by photographer Miles Aldridge and starring 18-year-old model Hailey Clauson
Inspired, according to Agent Provocateur’s creative director Sarah Shotton, by the “irony behind the idea of the ‘Perfect’ woman, unfazed by the everyday pressures of life. Our campaign girl has it all, she’s a lady in the street and a wildcat in the bedroom,” the luxe campaign imagery depicts a variety of domestic duties – dishwashing, vacuuming, ironing – undertaken in nothing but lingerie. A similar brief, it seems, to Elegantly Scant’s now three year old spring/summer campaign.
Were Agent Provocateur’s creative team consciously inspired by Elegantly Scant’s sexy housewife shoot? It’s possible, likely in fact, that they were considering Eckhardt-Delaney has modelled previously for Agent Provocateur, most famously in their ‘Lady of the Manor’ campaign shoot opposite Daisy Lowe and Catherine Bailey.
Of course, this could all just be a coincidence.

UPDATE: Elegantly Scant’s Brand Manager told Pedestrian, “Elegantly Scant prides itself on unique designs, impeccable quality and we have always said that it is the little details that set us apart. We are a small brand that is wholly designed and largely made here in Sydney. We do think it’s a bit desperate that a brand with such a huge advertising budget has borrowed from our entirely locally-produced shoot, but I guess it’s true that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”
