Abbey Lee Bobs Up For Atelier Versace

In their Spring 2011 lookbook Atelier Versace are the latest brand to recruit model of the moment, Abbey Lee Kershaw. Rocking dark-rimmed eyes and a bowl cut to give Karen O a run for her money, Abbey Lee lends an edgier vibe to Versace’s ostentatious gowns. Our favourite look is by far the embellished tropicana long sleeved mini dress, because why the hell not go all out with hibiscus flowers, leopard print and jungle scenery? It’s so typical of Versace’s excessiveness, you’ve got to love it.

In what is quite a contrast to her work for women’s mid-range clothing chain Portmans (whose posters are responsible for many a missed bus), Abbey Lee’s success lies in her versatility. Earlier this year she fronted an experimental short film for ManiaMania’s current collection. As well as this, she has lent her look to campaigns for high fashion houses Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Fendi but also diffusion and street labels such as See by Chloé, CK Calvin Klein, H&M, Gap and even a South Koren chain, Lewitt. We’d usually say she’s selling out, but we enjoy her face too much to care.
