8 Y.O. Child Among 3 Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide At California School

An eight-year-old student has died following a suspected murder-suicide shooting at a primary school in California.

The student is one of three people to have died after the incident at a special needs classroom in San Bernardino’s North Park Elementary School, including his 53-year-old teacher, and her husband, who is the suspected gunman.

A school official told CNBC they believed the attack had escalated from a “domestic dispute” between the two adults, and police Captain Ron Maass said they don’t believe the students were targets of the attack.

Another child, who stood behind their teacher during the attack, is being treated for gunshot injuries. They are currently in a stable condition.

Police were notified of the shooting around 10:30am local time, and were on the scene within minutes.

After the incident, over 600 students were safely transported to a nearby high school, where they were reunited with family members.
