We all know that feel. That ‘nah, I’ll do it later’ feel.

It’s certainly not an unusual impulse and, as a survey done by ReachOut.com and Nutri-Grain showed, the majority of young Australians (81%) set short- or long-term goals, yet more than half of them (58%) may give up before achieving them.

The findings of that study Aussie teenagers counted tiredness (38%), a lack of determination (36%), study or work commitments (35%) and a lack of courage (21%) as the barriers to reaching their goals. Only 45% felt optimistic about their future.

🙁

Enter: Brazilian legend Derek Rabelo. This morning he took to the water at Manly, for the Hurley Australian Open of Surfing

Derek, who is in town to launch Nutri-Grain’s beautifully shot ‘UNSTOPPABLE‘ video series was born blind and decided at 17 years old that he wanted to surf. A year and a half later and he was ripping it at Pipe, riding with the best on the North Shore of Oahu. So now, at 22, he surfs professionally and is beginning to take on competitive downhill skateboarding.

Seriously, though, if you don’t find this all kinds of inspirational I’ll eat my own head/a bowl of delicious Nutri-Grain .
